Conscious Money: Banking – A free Financial Healing mini e-book.
For-profit financial institutions invest their money for a return on investment (ROI), i.e., profit, just as you invest your money for long-term growth. That means that your bank could be using your hard-earned money to invest in industries that are antithetical to the causes you may care about.
For example, if you care about the climate crisis but you bank with Chase, Wells Fargo, or Bank of America – which are three of the biggest investors in the fossil fuel industry (source: Oil Change International) – then your dollars may be enabling the climate crisis to some degree.
If this makes your soul cringe, don't despair! I wrote a mini e-book about how to bank consciously, called Conscious Money: Banking. I list three bank designations that will help you find an institution that aligns more with your values.
Plus, I provide a step-by-step guide on how to make the big switch. I can't promise the switch will be painless, but it'll be worth it to know that your dollars are more aligned with what you really care about!
