About Justine De Peralta, Ms Financial Fit (@msfinancialfit)

Profile PIc (3)

Justine is a former classroom teacher turned Certified Financial Educator (CFEI), Money Coach, and Domestic Violence Counselor. She is the founder of Afraid to Affluent, specializing in helping BIPOC women and domestic violence survivors develop the confidence and financial literacy skills needed to navigate difficult money situations. Her commitment to supporting BIPOC women and domestic violence survivors started in 2007. Over the course of four years, she served at a local courthouse, helping individuals dealing with divorce, child custody, and eviction. While there are a list of reasons why couples seek divorce, financial challenges and domestic violence emerge as the foremost factors. Despite building a career in education, she decided to transition to the field of financial services after leaving a physically, emotionally, and psychologically abusive marriage. She knows what it's like to navigate difficult money situations: no emergency fund, high amounts of credit card, living paycheck to paycheck, going into collections, and hitting financial rock bottom. But guess what? She also knows how to bounce back STRONGER, SMARTER, HEALTHIER, and WEALTHIER. Now, she teaches women and domestic violence survivors how to do the same!

About Joanne Danganan, Financial Healing (@financialhealing)

Profile PIc (1)

Joanne is the founder and principal financial healing coach at Financial Healing, the proud daughter of immigrant Pilipino parents, and a proud UCLA Bruin. Her family didn’t have a lot of financial resources growing up, but her scrappy parents somehow figured it out with four daughters. She had to teach herself about the fundamentals of this complex financial system, and not without expensive mistakes along the way – borrowing way too much in student loans, racking up credit card debt, and living beyond her means. She knows there could be more resources for families like hers who started with very little, so her mission is to change the world one budget at a time. She is an Accredited Financial Counselor & Educator (AFC®), Certified Financial Social Work Coach, and Profit First Coach.

Working with Joanne & Justine

"Before working with you, we were unable to discuss money, we avoided the topic, we couldn't understand how we had no money. We couldn't save any. Working with you was incredible. Through your low pressure approach we understood how we were spending our money, what was important to discuss, and how to meet our goals. It was a very positive experience working with you. Now talking about money is no big deal. Your easy going nature worked really well for us as we are pretty chill."

Miranda and Michael, former Financial Healing clients
"Before meeting with Justine I was lost, scared, and a little embarrassed about my finances. I knew I had debt (student loans, dental, credit card) but I was overwhelmed and didn't know where to start. I landed a new better paying job and didn't know how to manage my money. Since working with her, I have less worry and stress about finances. My relationship with money has improved and I'm more confident and financially literate. It was nice to have a non-judgmental & unbiased person to sort my finances with. I have more control over my money, I'm paying off debt, and most importantly I have a plan! I never would have gotten here without Justine and her uplifting and empowering demeanor. Thank you Justine!"
